Some important information about MgeeTop-DSR :

MgeeTop-DSR is made up of two drugs: Pantoprazole and Domperidone. Domperidone is a prokinetic and anti-nausea medication used to treat indigestion and stomach pain. Pantoprazole, on the other hand, is a proton pump inhibitor, which prevents an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump) from creating excessive stomach acid. MgeeTop-DSR is extensively used to treat peptic ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). MgeeTop-DSR helps to relieve the symptoms of esophagitis (food pipelining irritation) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), generally known as heartburn.

Domperidone reduces bloating, fullness, and indigestion by speeding up the transit of food through the stomach and digestive tract. It does, however, effectively prevent the action of a vomiting area in your brain (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) that causes nausea and vomiting. Pantoprazole reduces stomach acid by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump). This proton pump is present in stomach wall cells and is in charge of secreting gastric acid, which destroys tissues in the food pipe, stomach, and duodenum.

MgeeTop-DSR can be prescribed to adults and children over the age of twelve. It’s best to take it one hour before a meal. It should be drunk whole with a glass of water. Chewing, crushing, or breaking it is not recommended. Without contacting a doctor, MgeeTop-DSR should not be taken for more than four weeks. You can boost the efficacy of MgeeTop-DSR by consuming small meals or snacks often. Caffeinated beverages (coffee, tea), spicy/deep-fried/processed foods, carbonated beverages, and acidic foods (citrus fruits/vegetables) should all be avoided (tomatoes).

MgeeTop-DSR, like many medications, can cause side effects, albeit not everyone gets them. The most common side effects of MgeeTop-DSR include diarrhea, stomach pain, flatulence (gas), dry mouth, dizziness, and headache. The adverse effects listed above are not essential for everyone. If you are experiencing any discomfort, see your doctor. Pantoprazole has been associated with low vitamin B12 and magnesium levels in people who have been taking it for a long time. You should have a Vitamin B12 and magnesium test every year if you’ve been using MgeeTop-DSR for a long time. MgeeTop-DSR should be avoided by people who have lupus (autoimmune inflammatory disease).
