Omeprazole and Domperidone, both gastrointestinal medications, are used to treat heartburn, indigestion, epigastric discomfort, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid flows back into the food pipe on a regular basis (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that occur on the inner lining of the stomach and intestines. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is caused by the formation of tumours in the top portion of the small intestine, which leads in excessive acid production.

Omeprazole & Domperidone is a combination medicine that contains both Omeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a proton pump inhibitor) (a dopamine antagonist). Omeprazole works by blocking the action of a proton pump enzyme in the stomach that causes acid production. Domperidone acts by enhancing the contractions and movements of the stomach muscles. Acid reflux is treated with the combination of omeprazole and domperidone.

Omeprazole and Domperidone should be taken 30-60 minutes before eating. The Omeprazole & Domperidone pill should not be chewed or broken; it should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Depending on your health condition, you have to take Omeprazole and Domperidone for as long as your physician advised you .
