MgeeScab Lotion


Use of MgeeScab Lotion :

Scabies (‘mites that attach themselves to the skin’) is treated with MgeeScab in adults and children aged 2 months and up. Adults and children 2 months of age and older can use over-the-counter permethrin to treat lice (small insects that attach themselves to the skin of the head). Permethrin (MgeeScab) belongs to the scabicides and pediculicides class of drugs. It works by removing lice and mites from the body.

 

How to Use MgeeScab Lotion :

MgeeScab applied to the skin as a cream. MgeeScab is available over-the-counter as a lotion to apply to the scalp and hair. This Medication is normally administered to the skin in one application, but in some cases, a second application is required. It is typically administered to the skin in one or two treatments, although three treatments may be required in some cases. If live mites are found two weeks (14 days) after the first permethrin cream treatment, a second treatment is recommended. A second treatment should be used if live lice are found one week after the initial treatment with over-the-counter permethrin lotion. Follow the directions on your prescription or package label carefully, and if you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain anything you don’t understand. Permethrin should be used exactly as indicated. Do not take more or less of it, or take it more frequently than your doctor prescribes.
MgeeScab should be applied to the skin, hair, and scalp only. It should not be gotten into your eyes, nose, ears, mouth, or vaginal area. Permethrin should not be used on your brows or eyelashes.
If MgeeScab gets into your eyes, immediately flush them with water. If your eyes are still sensitive after flushing with water, get medical attention right once.

Common Side Effects :

Scabies can cause skin irritation, such as itching, swelling, and redness, which might worsen following treatment with permethrin. It’s possible that mild burning or stinging will occur. Notify your doctor or pharmacist right once if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
